The Tonar Wash & Dry vinyl washing machine offers a helping hand in making your records shiny and clear again. With this compact and user-friendly appliance, you’re ready to wash and quickly dry your entire record collection—including 7″, 10″, and 12″ records—with an extremely quiet yet powerful vacuum system.
The Importance of Cleaning Your Vinyl Records
Many people associate vinyl records with “popping” and “ticking.” This is partly the charm of the medium, but of course, it shouldn’t be overly audible. Unless your vinyl is scratched, these pops and ticks are caused by dust and dirt that has collected in the grooves. Pollution also plays a major role, for example, air pollution from outdoor traffic, cooking grease, pet hair, fingerprints, and tobacco smoke. Sometimes mold can even develop if LPs have been stored in a damp environment for extended periods. When you play a dirty record, the stylus will scrape some of this dirt off the groove, causing a thick buildup of debris. This will eventually result in skipped grooves, permanently damaging your precious stylus and records.
All-in-One Vinyl Wash & Dry System
The Tonar Wash & Dry is an all-in-one solution for cleaning your records in the easiest way. The set includes a high-quality goat hair brush, one liter of cleaning fluid concentrate, a special stainless steel record clamp with rubber rings to protect the label during washing, and a dust cover. With just a single knob, you can control the platter’s rotation direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) and activate the vacuum arm. Instead of having to change vacuum arms for different record sizes, the Tonar Wash & Dry uses just one arm with a switch to switch between 7”, 10”, and 12” records. The Tonar Wash & Dry’s vacuum system is extremely quiet, yet very powerful. The vacuum collects all the fluid in a reservoir inside the machine. The waste water level can be read on the right side of the machine and can easily be emptied with the hose.
Did you know it’s important to clean brand-new records?
What most people don’t realize is that brand-new records actually benefit from a quick cleaning before playing them. But why would you want to clean something you literally just bought? Almost every new vinyl record is positively charged with static electricity. This charge attracts dust and particles in the immediate vicinity, including tiny paper fibers from the sleeve. This will lead to unwanted crackling and clicking sounds during playback. Oils and other gummy solvents are also used during the production process for pressing the record. Records. This leaves a sticky residue on the record surface, which can contaminate your stylus and ultimately reduce sound quality. Cleaning your newly purchased records with the Tonar Wash & Dry contributes to a better listening experience and the longevity of your records.
How the Tonar Wash & Dry works:
Place the record on the small or large platter and then lock the record onto the platter using the stainless steel record clamp with the label cover. Make sure the suction arm is turned away from the platter. Mix the Tonar record cleaning concentrate with 1 liter of purified water, or use the ready-made QS-Tonar Vinyl Cleaning Fluid.
Before applying the fluid, it is recommended to first remove loose dust from the record with an anti-static record brush, such as the Tonar Dust Away carbon fiber/velvet combination brush. Then turn the knob clockwise and carefully apply the cleaning fluid drop by drop.
Applying just the right amount of cleaning fluid is an art in itself and requires some practice. Start with a small amount and add more as needed. Ensure the fluid is evenly distributed over the surface using the application brush. When you’re satisfied with the result, gently press the brush to clean the grooves. Continue this action for 3 or 4 revolutions, then repeat in the opposite direction by turning the knob counterclockwise. You’re now ready to remove both dirt and fluid using the vacuum system. Vacuuming the record can be done in either direction. Rotate the vacuum arm over the vinyl, toward the spindle, and then turn on the vacuum motor by pressing the button on the control knob. One or two rotations of the record should be enough to vacuum and dry it. The velvet strips on the underside of the vacuum arm will remain dry or nearly dry thanks to the Tonar Wash & Dry’s powerful suction.
The wastewater level in the reservoir can be checked via the hose on the right side of the Tonar Wash & Dry. To empty the reservoir, simply pull the hose out of its recess and place it in a bottle or container. There’s no need to tilt the machine; the reservoir will empty completely when the machine is simply standing on its feet.

- The package must be received in our warehouse within 2 weeks after your request to return the product.
Exchange product:
